Looking for solutions and focusing on client’s strengths and abilities is Donalda’s passion. Whether she is working with an individual, group, family or couple, each journey starts with a unique story. It is about understanding behaviors and looking at patterns of behavior that connect to other stories. It is about identifying what changes are needed to support clients in the movement towards a healthier life.
Alone, people may feel too scared or vulnerable to look at old wounds. They may feel that if they allow themselves to experience those feelings they will break or even die.
But the purpose of a feeling is to be felt, understood and then let go. This takes courage, compassion, and commitment. Donalda helps elevate her clients to a place to safely work through their feelings. She knows the solution is inside each client waiting to be acknowledged, understood and realized.
Individual counselling is offered in one-hour sessions in person, via telephone, Skype or FaceTime. Donalda provides a safe, trusting and professional environment designed to encourage clients to discover what may be holding them back. With curiosity, a client can uncover the parts of their life that is no longer serving them and focus on positive forward steps.
As a certified Daring Way™ Facilitator, Donalda offers group programs in 6-8 week or weekend intensive sessions. Each workshop is limited to a maximum of 8 participants and is designed to provide an intimate experience to guide participants in their discovery of wholehearted living.
The Daring Way™ is based on the work of Brené Brown and her book Daring Greatly. Donalda is pleased to announce that in addition to The Daring Way™, she will be offering workshops based on Brené’s book, Gifts of Imperfection and her newest book, Rising Strong.

Louise and Craig
Donalda knows firsthand the needs and supports families and individuals with disabilities require. She understands the need to be heard, to be validated and to be valued for their gifts. Her son Steven Ripplinger was diagnosed with Duchene’s Muscular Dystrophy in 1990. Donalda’s path was often overwhelming. She and Steven’s father worked hard to balance the needs of their two other children with Steven’s increasing needs. This led to the creation of Steven’s Support Network, a group of volunteers that took on some of the work to support Steven and his family. Steven’s support network not only enhanced his life but helped Donalda define her direction. She could teach individuals with high physical disabilities and their families the techniques and lessons she’d learned. This was the birth of the REALM Foundation and the beginning of a lifelong commitment to helping other families on their journey.
Donalda is trained in the delivery of PATH (Planning Alternative Tomorrows with HOPE), MAP (Making Action Plans) and incorporates Thinking like a Movement into her work. Disability counselling is offered in one hour sessions to individuals, couples and/or families. Donalda has written about her experiences with disability in the following publications:
- Connection, Muscular Dystrophy Canada’s National Magazine:
How Steven – and his parents – began to breathe again Read more
- Dialect, Newsmagazine of the Saskatchewan Association for Community Living:
